+1 for moving contrib projects under separate repositories under github.com/qooxdoo-contrib. when you create qooxdoo-contrib as a github organization, you can manage permissions on a project-by-project basis. this will give every project its own list of committers along with separate issue trackers, wikis, etc, which, i want to believe, will result in increased visibility for contrib projects, which in turn will better motivate people to write qooxdoo contribs. that said, if the qooxdoo-contrib is going to go through such a fundamental change, maybe its governance model should be changed as well. why not reinvent it as, say, qooxpi (a la pypi) where you grant access to global variable names on a first-come-first-served basis automatically instead of granting this authority manually? you could even use an existing pypi implementation like djangopypi. while you're at it, stop calling them "contribs" and just call them packages. qooxpi:// already sounds like a nice protocol prefix, doesn't it? ;) best, burak ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The demand for IT networking professionals continues to grow, and the demand for specialized networking skills is growing even more rapidly.
