Hi John, thank you for your input. You are certainly right that community building is very important. It is also a difficult and long-term project. My issue is strictly technical and can be solved technically very easily - make contributing easier, but still provide a central mechanism for discoverability of the contribs. A very small investment that has long-term consequences (even if there are only few contributions).
Ensuring the quality of contribs automatically is also very easy technically, but certainly not required...
