I recently sent out a request for any AI resources for the unit on AI that I am currently teaching.
I started the unit today, and one of my students gave me this link:
http://gizmodo.com/5565462/the-magic-of-watson-ibms-question+answering-supercomputer
which is about a team in IBM that has developed a computer program named Watson
that can play Jeopardy at a level approaching that of the best human Jeopardy
players. Which is a quite amazing feat.
This brief article is intriguing, but the link to the original article in the
New York Times magazine leads to a much more comprehensive and interesting
article.
And even better, there is another link that allows you to actually play
Jeopardy against Watson. I had a go, and was just beaten (like 20 to -15 ).
Great stuff!
