reHello,

I tried to reinstall Qt but it didn't help.

I solved it by using the File Type Manager tool [http://frank.neatstep.com/node/1]. It found a .pro entry in the registry with the associated action pointing to the old Qt directory. A direct search for qtcreator.exe in the registry would have found it I guess. I changed the path from 2009.03 to 2009.05 and that was it.

On my desktop I have a link to the .pro file and the associated file to .lnk was notpad.exe (?). So I then got the notpad document icon instead of the pdf icon. At least something changed :) Now looking at the properties of the link file, in the first tab entry, there is a button to modify the associated application. Now QtCreator showed up there so I could select it.

The .pro file has now also QtCreator associated to it. Double clicking on the .pro file now starts QtCreator and opens the corresponding project.

So it seem that the .pro file associated action in the registry was not updated by the Qt 4.6 install on my vista PC. ... or something like that.

Qt is so simple to use and setup on unix... Appart from that little problem Qt and the gdb debugger works well on vista too.

Sorry for the disgression. I hope my shared experience can be useful for someone else.
