Hi Sheri,

The menu you are referring to starts and stops the simulation between
choices for a particular turn. To use it you must be on a particular turn of
the
game and have generated choices (either using Quackle's generate choices
button, Move menu, entering your own choices manually using the Move box right
over
the board, or typing your choices directly on the board). If you aren't on a
turn with choices generated, the menu will be grayed out and the start/stop
simulation on the toolbar won't work either.

Here's what I usually do to simulate a live game I have played. I enter the
whole game, including my racks, then chose one of two reports from the Report
menu. The full game HTML report is pretty, but does no simulation, I believe
it uses Quackle's static evaluation tools. For a report which considers board
position and tiles remaining, I request the championship players full
report. Be prepared to wait (it takes about 10 minutes on my 1 year old
previously
smokin' laptop). To open the files in windows I need to add an extension,
.htm for the HTML report, .txt for the championship report.

Please feel free to email me if anything above isn't clear, or if you have
other questions.

Your ISC friend,

Lynda Finn
