Is there a performance increase associated with moving to 64-bit? Windows has 64-bit versions of win7 and vista, and perhaps xp. Programs written to run under a 64-bit os can be written to perform better. It's not clear how many have been. I'm not fully up on the details; consult the web. -- Sent from my Palm Pre On Aug 14, 2010 8:14 PM, caughran40 <[email protected]> wrote: The debian package at http://quackle.poslfit.com/ won't install under Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit. "Wrong version," it says. Is this just a question of recompiling? The windows package does install under Win7 64-bit, which runs in a virtual machine under Ubuntu, so I'm not totally deprived.
