Howdy Tony,

>what we destroyed was our credibility without firing one person in
charge.<

I disagree, the credibility issue may take a while to iron out.
WHY did France block enforcement of UN Resolution 1441 that it voted
FOR?
WHY are Syrian troops guarding 3 seperate areas of what is presumed to
be empty desert?
When will the payoffs for protection made with food for oil monies be
made public?
The chief of the CIA did resign.
BTW Kerry also voted for enforcement.

>In my opinion, this was about the most ineffective way to fight terror
i can think of...<

Really? Did you not notice Libya giving up its WMD programs along with
providing aid and protection for terrorist groups? The American people
can be our weakest link in this war on terror. We can't give up or give
in untill it is over. This is one of those "give them an inch they'll
take a mile" moments. We can't sit back and lick our wounds. We must
make sure that anyone contemplating an attack on us knows we won't stop
untill it is over. We must make sure that anyone who would aid them
knows the consequences of their association. Any sign of weakness is
not an option.

> Anybody seen Rumsfeld lately??? I find it hard to believe he never
saw the disgusting photos of Abugrav prisoners being
tortured/humiliated, sexually perverted and, in some cases, maybe
killed, until they came out in media...he admitted knowing about them
for many months.<

It was possible for him to hear about them before seeing them. And
while the pics were taken of prisoners being humiliated, (I never saw
any actual torture, but did hear there were some pics of sexual
enactments) which ARE against our MCJ and we are prosecuting those
involved for the world to see that we are a just nation. Remember that
at this time no evidence has surfaced that REAL torture was used.
There is no comparison to what happened there and the brutal beheadings
committed by the terrorists. But which got all the front page leftist
liberal press?

>We're in a war of HEARTS N MINDS more than anything else, and we're
surely losing that around the World.<

If the media tried focusing just a little on our successes and
interviewed Iraqis who are greatful maybe the world would have some
balance to the news they recieve.

>And let's face it kids, the dream of bringing security and peace to
Iraq has been shattered...this will not happen as long as we are there!<

Once again, get a little balance. The Iraqi Olympic team didn't have to
worry about facing REAL TORTURE when they get home. The prisons are not
full of innocent people being brutaly tortured and maimed. Women are
not being dragged off to be sexualy molested before being murdered and
returned to their husbands.
Irqai are learning how to protect their own.
Stopping the insurgents may take a while.
Right now they are killing their own people to prevent a Democratic
form of government. They bomb their own police stations.
If we leave now, it would only get worse.

> In my opinion, this was about the most ineffective way to fight
terror i can think of...
>
> peace over war...tony<

Well Tony, you critisized plenty... but I didn't notice any alternative
solutions. How would you do it? (BTW just saying what U wouldn't do is
not an answer)
In my opinion Bush has done the right thing, although mistakes have
been made. Any good General knows that you can't plan for everything.
Ex we expected a bigger resistence in the beginning and more support
after. Just because we have not found a big cache of WMD's doesn't mean
they don't exist.
