Communism in its theoretical sense is simply a version
of socialism. Whether the generalization is true, Democrats are generally
seen as supporting more social programs than Republicans, consequently given a
choice between a republican and a Democratic candidate I suppose is not
surprising that someone who believes in Communistic theories (very different
than the totalitarian practices of Stalinistic USSR) would support the candidate
perceived as socially focused, or
"people-friendly".
The argument in your new three statements is much
better since it is more realistic, however in the academic sense it is still
false logic since the first two statements are assumptions related to future
events, rather than facts. Thus the third statement is only true should
both of the first two assumptions come true. Consequently, the third
statement is not true. = false
logic.
The CPUSA does not have a
candidate capable of defeating Bush.
Kerry is the only candidate that is capable of defeating Bush.
The only way they can accomplish their goal to defeat Bush is to vote for Kerry.

Further, the logic saying that if the Communist Party does not support Bush (which I question the validity of such an official statement having been made), then they must support Kerry is just as silly. That is like saying if A does not equal B, then B must equal C. This is not a form of deduction or even induction, but rather one of the most common examples of false logic.
The statement is on the official web site of the Communist Party USA. http://www.cpusa.org/
Build Unity! Defeat Bush and the Ultra Right! "the overriding political task is to defeat Bush and his counterparts in Congress and elect Kerry and a more people-friendly Congress"

I only went to college for 1 year and did take a logic class, so can you please explain how it is false logic?
