First, I'm trying to understand the logic not trying to pick a fight.

If the CPUSA candidate does not defeat Bush then their goal is not accomplished.
If Kerry does defeat Bush then their goal is accomplished.
If the first two assumptions come true then the third statement can't be true because it would be too late to cast a vote.
