Amazing you actually put the blame of Rassmann falling out of the boat on Kerry!
It's also funny how this statement is pretty precise in detail but in an earlier post
you said peoples memory are probably fuzzy as to the incident, so you can't have it
both ways because if the incident was that clear to whoever you read this from I would
think Rassmann's memory would be more credible being it was his life on the line, kind of like the accident that left me a quad I can recall every bit of it in fine detail much like you probably could.
I didn't get this info off of Kerry's web site either.
This group has been discredited so many times by themselves it's pitiful we even have
to argue how corrupt they are.
These adds are meant for people that don't check their facts, if you really started reading the facts as an American and not a Republican you would see it at least less than accurate and it's funny how people's memories can be jogged after a $40 million grant is given.
 
A Swift Shift in Stories

This is a story about Swift boats and FastShip.

Four days ago, retired naval Rear Adm. William L. Schachte Jr. seconded accusations made by the group Swift Boat Veterans for Truth seeking to discredit Democratic presidential nominee John F. Kerry's record in Vietnam. But since then, Democrats have discovered that Schachte is also a long-standing supporter of President Bush and a lobbyist whose client FastShip Inc. recently won a $40 million grant from the federal government.

On Aug. 27, Schachte issued a statement saying that after he "avoided talking to media" for months, he was reluctantly stepping forward to challenge Kerry's award of one of his Purple Hearts on Dec. 2, 1968. "Kerry had himself in charge of the operation, and I was not mentioned at all," he said. "He also claimed that he was wounded by hostile fire. None of this is accurate. I know, because I was not only in the boat, but I was in command of the mission."

Kerry has said Schachte was not on the boat that night, adding another mystery to the disputed events of 36 years ago. But other events are not in dispute. According to a March 18 legal filing by Schachte's firm, Blank Rome, Schachte was one of the lobbyists working for FastShip on issues such as the effort to win funding for a new marine cargo terminal. On Feb. 2, Philadelphia-based FastShip announced that it would receive $40 million in federal funding for the project

That part of "the story" was removed by kerrys web site, it was proven
that only kerry's boat took off after the one boat hit a mine, when it
took off Rassmann (a Green Beret who just happened to be on kerry's
boat that day and was not a member of his crew) fell off the boat into
the river, he was disoriented, the other boats that stayed were just a
little upriver from his position (kerry's was the most down river when
the boat between the group and his hit the mine) when he first
surfaced, disorientated from being dumped into the river, he reported
gun fire all around his position and imeadiatly dove back down in the
murky water. The other boats were sweeping the river banks with 50 cal
and other weapons fire. Kerry returned to pick up Rassmann who was
scared and disoriented from his ordeal, mostly due to kerry's actions.
So while Rassmann credited kerry for saving his life, it was kerry who
had put it into jeopardy to begin with.
BTW this was the "incident" from which kerry got his 2nd Purple heart,
although nobody can explain how he was wounded with "rice" imbedded in
his butt which "reportedly" happened during this "firefight" on the
river that didn't result in one bullet wound or bullet damage to any of
the boats. (BTW the "official" report was based on the one kerry
himself filed).
Like many other unanswered questions, kerry never signed the forms to
release all his records. He hides behind the "Blanket Amnesty" issued
by Carter and recieved a pardon for some unknown action. The fact
remains, he blasted Bush but refuses to open his own records. The
deflection technique is nothing new.
