I am not an expert on Social Security
benefitsq, but in a nutshell, SSDI is
available to disabled individuals who
have paid enough into the system through payroll deductions to qualify,
otherwise, they would receive SSI if they are receiving disability income.
SS (regular Social Security) is for retired individuals or the dependents of
deceased workers. If you are disabled receiving SSDI, I believe you are
converted to SS once you reach retirement age, which is dependent upon your date
of birth. Is SSDI better than SS? I suppose it depends on your
specific situation and age. If you are seriously interested, I suggest the
