A couple of months ago I saw some really neat ponchos on a couple of gals. I think they were more for rain, but that day was a horrid one for weather--cold, wet, windy you name it.
These ponchos were of heavy plastic, longer in front, fit nicely over the shoulders and even had a hood. They were long enough in the back to cover bulky clothes and keep the top of the chair dry. It almost looked like it was double layered in the back--one that fit closer and one to cover the entire area. Like a western --don't know what they are called but I'm almost possitive it was 'not' poncho, a kind of overcoat. Anyway I asked where they got them and they said Walmart! Do not know what department tho, but I would almost tend to say sporting goods? They had neat colors too. One gal had a purple the other a fire engine yellow. Both these gals were in electric w/c with bulky coats and layers of clothes. Plus they were big themselves. I had not seen anything like them before, and of course have not looked yet. They are probably seasonal, but I thought they would be well worth the money! Just my 2 cents worth.

I don't know how you guys(a general word for everyone) make it during the cold weather. If my driving arm gets cold, it shuts down. Can't even keep my elbow on the armrest. My son had to drive me home a couple of blocks one cold night. I went from outside, to a cold church basement, to back outside. In half a block I could not drive. But what I find interesting, is the split second I get in a warm place, my arm is fine. No sitting in front of a heater or anything--just being 'in' the warm building is all that I need. I really look up to you that challenge the weather and get it done!
More power to you and hang in there!
