Spent a month in Green Lake Wisconsin back when I was 16. My mother auditioned for a soloist voice position and got the job. It was a church resort. All the music people stayed in a really neat stone house tucked back into a clearing next to the woods. There was a stone fountain in the living room which at that time was soooo neat! I worked in "food service". Had to make sure my number of tables had all the things they wanted, drinks, condiments, hot toast or rolls depending on the meal, and clear the tables and set up for the next meal.

It was beautiful!! I would leave for morning breakfast early so I could go to the meadow and watch the deer, if I was lucky! The mosquitos were big enough to carry you away, but other that that, it was so lush and green, there was the lake and a pool, crafts for guests and workers--did some ceramics, and could try some water sports. I tried water skiing and got up the first time! That day the lake was very rough as so many boats were on it, but managed a few good runs. The next time there was a lull in boat traffic so it was smooth. The boat went faster which scared me, but the real problem was the strength it took to just hang on to the rope! Whew! my arms, hands and shoulders were not used to that, so had to let go. I went down gently, but another gal in the house fell and a ski hit her thigh and left a nasty bruise! It was a very good month!

Subject: Accessible Resort in WI - Summer Activities

A friend recently told me "If you can dream it, You can do it".
Well, my dream is becoming reality. The new cabins at Sunset Pines Resort
have turned out beautiful. The weather is not assisting our landscaping
projects but we are working through it. The fish are biting in the stocked
lake and the pontoon is docked and ready on Mead Lake.
SUMMER IS HERE!!!
I've been working on rewriting and updating the resort web site. I feel it's
more user friendly now. In the near future I hope to be adding a "video"
tour of the resort that you can view on your computer. There is a "Link to
my Page" button if anyone has a link to their web site you would like to add
You can also place my banner/link on your web site by clicking on the "Put
my Banner on your Page" button.
Cruise the new web site. Especially check out the "Upcoming Events" and the
Discounts & Specials" pages under the "Updates/Pics/Events" button. Just
click on the "All Entries" bar at this link - http://sunsetpinesresort
com/cgi-local/update/cbdirect.cgi
If you have not already done so, I encourage everyone to sign up for the
Resort NEWSLETTER. I sent out a NEWSLETTER today through the web site. It
will state in your e-mail Subject Line - Sunset Pines Resort Newsletter -
UPDATED WEB SITE. If you did not receive that e-mail, you are not signed up
yet. Located on the home page, just enter your e-mail address. In a few
weeks I will be running an ad campaign through the NEWSLETTER that involves
Free Beer?!?
Feel free to let you friends know about the resort and its web site. My
first priority are those with disabilities but the cabins are useable by
anyone in need of a vacation spot or a location for a reunion, wedding or
social function. Summer dates are filling in fast.
ROCK CREEK DISABLED OUTDOORS, Inc. is a newly formed non-profit organization
created to assist disabled individuals in accessing the many recreational
opportunities available that they may not be able to afford otherwise. To
offer a tax deductible donation or for more information, please contact Dale
through the Sunset Pines Resort web site.
Have a great summer and please help spread the word. I will be adding and
changing photo's as the landscaping evolves around the new cabins. I hope it
will be as beautiful as my dreams.
We are aware that on occasion someone will volunteer a friends email address
If you didn't submit your email address and would like to be removed,
please reply to this letter with "REMOVE" in the subject line. We will
remove you at once.
Take Care
