I am assuming that your biggest problem is when you're in bed, and that is my biggest problem when I have a cold, and I am unable to help myself in any way. I have trained everyone around me in the quad cough technique that I learned at Santa Clara Valley med, and I try to get rid of the mucus before I lay down. I also take a Nyquil 45 minutes before I go to bed, and that seems to help with the mucus forming after I lay down. Nothing is more frustrating than lying in bed and coughing and coughing and coughing. I try to keep my head somewhat elevated when I have a cold, is that also seems to help. Of course, keep extra hydrated to try and keep the mucus less thick.

Good luck, and I hope your cold goes away soon.
