I have a cat and throw a few treats across the room.  That was he has a few to eat before he even realizes I am gone.  Adopting my cat is the best thing I've done but he's smart to the extent that he knows he can get away with a lot while I'm in bed.  He knows I'm not able to jump up and get him. lol.
