I'm also on a bacteria suppressant called macrodantin. I've been on it for about 5 yrs now, and I probably average 2 maybe 3 uti's a year. Before I had them constantly.

LOL. I recently wrote it here so I excluded it this time. :-)

Augmentin 250mgs daily. It's NOT a broad spectrum drug because my UTIs
would only respond to IT
for a year. So I'm on long-term therapy using IT.

just out of curiosity, what's the antibiotic?

most likely.

I guess one is LESS LIKELY for bugs to become resistant to low dose
antibiodics rather than 7-10 day
runs of high dosages. And resistance can pose big threats.

Be sure one is on THE correct drug, however, by doing sensitivities with the
culture. Otherwise it's a futile
attempt at resolving the problem at large.

Subject: [QUAD-L] spasms

We found out what was causing all of Gabe’s bowel and bladder spasms.
Another UTI, that means Gabe has had one almost steady for three months now.
He has an appointment Thursday with urologist. I think it might be time for
a series of antibiotic instillations. That is the only way he has kicked big
ones before. Thanks for all of your suggestions.
