Exactly Stacy!!!,

Always smile and give a very pleasant greeting.  If you do not speak up and present that your brain is not impaired, folks who do not understand SCI may think  you  have TBI or  something and are not IN CONTROL!

Whenever I go to the store or restaurant, I first ask them how they are doing and that usually breaks the ice.  I rarely get ignored because I speak up first.  Occassionally if I am with someone, it is them that gets the attention from these people bc they think they aren'tmy friend but there to help me.  When people stare, I say hello.  I don't let it get to me but it sounds like you had a frustrating day.  I'm sorry you had to go through that.

Subject: [QUAD-L] Being ignored

I was out today and got totally ignored, I HATE IT WITH A PASSION!!! In Sears the cashier asked my friend "Is that all there is?" I had the freaking money in my paw. Then, I was at Atlanta bread company "Is there anything else?" Yes, I would like to get some coffee. Then in a health food store.
Do you guys get this shit too?
