My wife, nephew and best friend had it done with no problems. If
your corneas are thick enough, you can have the procedure repeated
multiple times. All the people I mentioned got the lifetime of free
redo's should the need arise. A word of caution. Some less scrupulous
doctors may not tell you that lasik does not avoid what I call old
people eyes. Just as glasses wearers often need bifocals when they get
older, people that have had lasik often end up needing reading glasses
when they get older. So getting rid of glasses completely may not be
possible. The younger you are when you have lasik done the less likely
you are to need reading glass. I'm 39 and already at the ago where I
need glasses for distance but have to take them off to read something.
It's still worth it for me though. There is one possible solution for
people like myself-monovision. You have lasik done on one eye.
Hopefully, your brain will rewire itself and you'll be able to see far
and near. If not, you have the other eye done. I contacted the organization the article mentions and they found a surgeon that is part of their program. Unfortunately, it's a 5 hour drive. I think I'll keep saving and have a doctor around here do it. Eric Danny Hearn wrote:
