Hey Dan, sounds like you've been listening to Randi Rhodes ;-)))
BTW, there was an article in the most recent Rolling Stone about a
guy who had a brain injury while injured in Iraq. The care he
received was pretty good while inpatient, but as soon as he went
home, things fell apart for him. THere are hundreds of soldiers
coming home with brain injury because the humvees are armored enough
to withstand the IED blasts, but no human can withstand that kind of
impact without their heads taking some kind of trauma. Such a shame,
this country knows so little and DOES so little about brain injury.
Perhaps this will increase funding and knowledge. I worked with
survivors of brain injury for many years and that is one disability
which is very hard to live with and to treat.

I never realized you were such a Fascist! My Country - right or
wrong eh. And if we're wrong, all the better - bring em on! Fascism
is what put the likes of Hitler and Mussolini in power and kept
them there. The people of these countries never questioned their
Governments. Kill Six million Jews? No problem my leaders are
ALWAYS right.
And NO country wants to be occupied. Look what happened to the
British 'Liberation' i.e. Occupation/Empire. And did you know that
only 1 percent (that's one percent) of ALL Iraqis want us in their
country! We rank far lower than the insurgents!
How would you react if Russia decided that Bushy posed a threat to
the world so they instigated a preemptive strike (Shock and Awe)
killing hundreds if not thousands of innocent civilians and
destroying our infrastructure while doing so? Then they invaded our
Country and occupied all of our best and fanciest buildings, so
they could 'fix up OUR country'? What do you think we would do? Um,
maybe become insurgents? And perhaps the Canadians and Mexicans
would join us in becoming resistant fighters as they most likely
would be next in the eradication of Axis of Evils.
And you can't compare how one country fights another. If you
remember our war with England, the British marched into battle in
compact formations while the American liberators hid behind trees
and rock walls and picked off the British at will. All the while
the British were saying - what the Hell is wrong with these
Americans? Don't they know how to fight a proper war? My God, they
are nothing but heathens.
And what did we do in Vietnam? We couldn't beat them with gun fire
on the ground so we tried saturation high altitude bombing, That
didn't work since the people we were fighting were living
underground which we knew! Then we tried defoliating their forest
that didn't work again because they were hiding underground. 'What
the Hell is wrong with these Americans? Don't they know how to
fight a proper war? My God, they are nothing but heathens.' So then
we started dropping Napalm - White Phosphorous - Whisky Pete. How
many innocent men, women, and children were killed by Napalm? This
stuff sticks to your skin and burns till it's spent. There is no
way to put it out. It's a horrible way to die. And in the end, we
got our ass kicked. Today a unified Vietnam is one of our best
trading partners. 50 thousand plus dead GIs and millions of dead
Vietnamese. Was all that inhumanity worth it? Oh, I forgot. It was
Jane Fonda and John Kerrys' fault.
Well, I could go on forever but I am proud to say I'm one of the 70
percent who believe this preemptive and baseless war was a grave
mistake that has turned the world against us and I'm afraid we will
pay dearly for it in the years to come.
I will not post again on this topic. Good night my Fascist friend.
Oh, by the way, I've met several quads and amps that were injured
in Iraq and they hate the war and everything about it.
They don't sound like bad guys to me. But it does make this an SCI
topic.

elicited my response:
Strange thing Freedom....
Once one gets a taste, it's more addictive to one's soul than
drugs..... to those who didn't grow up in it through the selfless
sacrifices of their ancestors.... Peolpe forget how many years we
stayed in Germany and Japan, and we're STILL in S. Korea.
But we now here BS about "quagmire", calling sophmoric
degradidations torture, claiming we're worse than the beheaders
and real torturers and comparisons to Vietnam, while all the
positive news is ignored, like "women voting and holding office in
an Arab country (that's 2 now).
We gave into liberal propaganda (speaking of the majority of
public support) during Vietnam, {1] when the "Useful Idiots" like
hanoi jane and komrade kerry decieved America, we created "no fire
zones etc, which eliminated any chance of victory and signed a
cease fire agreement.
When the North Vietnamese violated the Cease fire Agreement, the
Democratic leadership faulted on our promise and over a million
civilians were slaughtered in Vietnam and Cambodia as the "Peacful
Communists" (according to the "Useful Idiots") took them over.
A new generation, unaware of the truth that the "Useful Idiots"
caused, are now bombarded by the same style propaganda, and bin
hidden is counting on them just like Ho Chi Mein did.
[1] This was not the only problem, as then, like now,
"politicians" thought they were better qualified to run the war.
The TERRORISTS (I refuse to call foriegn suicide bombers
"insurgents") are fighting to PREVENT stability and hope to start
civil war, BUT THE IRAQI's ARE NOW TELLING US WHO THEY ARE and
where they're hiding.
The only hope we have of a long term solution is proving the
Terrorists wrong by exposing the people to the truth.
Presently the "Hate Bush " first crowd is muddying that water of
hope by aiding with propaganda that America is Bad and blowing
things out of proportion instead of waiting for the truth to come
out.
I met a new para a couple of weeks ago at the Hines VA SCI unit,
who was sorry he couldn't go back to fight in Iraq.
Doesn't sound like a bad guy to me. But it does make this an SCI
topic.
