I don't live in a nursing home. There are no such requirements in a private  
home. Of course you can mark your outlets as emergency if you are anally  
inclined. Our generator powers the refrigerator, freezer, microwave, numerous  
outlets, in addition to my ventilator, suction machine, and mattress.
