I can't speak for CMS, but I don't think Quads, will have any problem getting replacement electric wheelchairs, unless they can -Ambulate- or take one+ step. The biggest obstacle is how the chair is "Coded" by those seeking the funding source. Behind the scene OTs are transmitted facsimiles and emails with manufacturers in trying to determine the best or proper coding on a wheelchair order. Chances are if its rejected by CMS on the first try, it was due to an writing code of components or parts. You can always ask for a copy of the coded order and check for spelling errors or see what codes were used. Best Wishes W In a message dated 2/1/2007 5:33:43 P.M. Good luck getting your chair in a timely fashion. It it so tiring waiting on something you need. How long did you have to wait between wheelchairs to get a new one. I hope I can get a new one before she retires. My supplier told me I could not get a new one until mine cost more to be repaired and a new one and that could be forever with a permobile. I still have insurance to my stepmom, but it seems like they are just as slow as Medicaid. My supplier told me that insurance pretty much follows Medicare ruling. I have had mine for years now. A lot of things are broken but not the price of the entire chair. Has anybody ever heard of Medicare/Medicaid paying for a Permobile.Just wondering. Dana
