Hi......I have a FORD 2006 E350.....I would say it is very important to get THE BIGGEST engine possible. The added equipment with the lift is incredibly heavy and taxing on the van. A small engine would not give you the power needed to offset the increased weight particularly over the long haul. I have a F150 with a 302 & need a run way to enter on the highway :-) I recently bought a 07 mini-van though because I don't travel...just mainly 100 miles from home and that's usually alone or with 2 other passengers so the gas mileage will defiantly benefit me.
