You pay taxes? Are you saying before President Bush you didn't pay taxes? Hate to burst your bubble, but CONGRESS makes the budget and pass the tax laws. Believe it or not, President Bush wasn't the one in power when the DEMOCRATS started taxing Social Security. BTW, LBJ opened up Social Security money to pay for his entitlement programs. It was ALWAYS the Democrats who played with Social Security while playing the fear card that Republicans "were" going to cut benefits. Personaly, I'm better off now than when Slick Willie was playing games.
