Well said, John! There is a greater gap between the rich and poor in this
country today than at any other time in history, and the gap keeps growing. The
richest 10% control 90% of the wealth. We are used to hearing athletes,
entertainers, etc.make millions a year. My students are always stunned when I
tell them if you work 30 yrs. at 30 grand per year you have made only $900
grand -- before taxes! The comparison is indeed stunning. There are millions
out there who could blow my life savings in one poker hand and laugh about it.
And the situation is getting worse. The hammer is coming down on the have-nots
with a vengeance. As I said the other day, our quad necessities are just
sky-rocketing as funding sources go the other way. The measure of a society is
how well it treats its most defenseless (Think Hitler for a negative example.
The FIRST people he quietly eliminated were the physical and mentally
handicapped. He considered them useless and a drain on society.)

Our government spends billions on pointless, overpriced pork projects and
leaves millions of the unfortunate dangling in the wind. I don't think it is a
party-specific problem, although the Republicans seem more adept at it. And
while I am ranting, all those people who bought McMansions (six bedrooms, six
baths, four car garage, etc. for themselves and one or two children deserve
exactly what is coming -- foreclosure. Such greed and materialism disgusts me.
No 4-member family needs a 6,000 sq. foot house. And I see it all the time,
right here in my small town. If our representatives bail out these greed
mortgages, every one of them should be voted out.Whew! More ranting later. Hope
everyone had a wunnerful Christmas.

it a tax?To: [email protected]

Tim,When I say its a tax, I meant a hidden tax. You can't overtly tax the poor
without looking like a heartless boob. In fact, I did pay taxes before
B-b-b-bush. I never had to pay for so many drugs out of my pocket. That is a
hidden tax on the poor. I personally payed out over $2,000 on stuff that use to
be covered by Medicare or Medicaid oir Waiver, each of these so called safty
nets took me a long miserable battle that assured the world I was virtually
homeless. If you add up everything they stopped paying for and "PLAN D FROM
OUTER SPACE!", then I'm now receiving $2000 less than I got in 2004. And I'm
told by my congressman it will be getting worse because they intend to make
further cuts in services. That is a %20 tax increase on the poor. At least on
this poor it is. Could you imagine the Shyt Fyt all those poor millionaires
would throw if they raised their taxes 20%. I do appreciate the Sunday lunch at
the church, but it isn't like I can trade it for condom catheters. Another
little trick in Ohio...they want my next chair to be a Pride Jazzy. I suggest
you guys depending on Medicare for chairs begin taking real good care of what
you have. I'm getting all new wheels three new safety controllers and the
custom back they said I needed 4 1/2 years ago, and then it is completely out
of warranty. So, I call what they do taxing the poor. I'm sure some of you feel
the gov't overtaxes you. I know I never liked it when I worked. They sure
didn't spend my taxes to fix up the neighborhood I live in. Oh, I get it! You
think I blame a party? I don't think there are 2 dozen people in Washington DC
that give a crap about what they do and haven't sold out the American people.
Reagan had Alzheimer's, Bush 1 believed Arabs loved him, Slick Willy was, well,
Slick Willy, and Bush2 will probably be remembered as the first president to
get the US into a religious war. I think theres way too much proof that we
don't neeeeeeed no steeeeeeenkkeeeng president. Americans should do public
service and take a test to earn the right to vote, and lawyers should never be
allowed into politics. Tim, If you are doing better on this new system, I could
sure use a few tips. Every bill I have has gone up dramatically. The guy that
owns the building just raised the price of the washing machine to $2 a load. My
electric goes up to $115 next month. My TV dinners even went up. If you have
some income, hell, I'm happy for you. With Bush in office, people with lots of
money have done pretty well. I'm just pissed cause I'm poor and Bush gives away
more money to the worlds largest corporations than he spends on health care and
aid for poor. He has done more to help people refinance 1/2 million dollar
homes in 3 months than hes done for children in "no child left behind" in the
last 6 years. If your a quad that wants to see things improve for handicapped
people, well, some of the people do get fooled all the time. Happy New Year, john

You pay taxes?
Are you saying before President Bush you didn't pay taxes?

Hate to burst your bubble, but CONGRESS makes the budget and pass the tax laws.
Believe it or not, President Bush wasn't the one in power when the DEMOCRATS
started taxing Social Security.
BTW, LBJ opened up Social Security money to pay for his entitlement programs.
It was ALWAYS the Democrats who played with Social Security while playing the
fear card that Republicans "were" going to cut benefits.
Personaly, I'm better off now than when Slick Willie was playing games.

Merry frakkin Christmas!
