Quadius, I use the Texas condom and still retain some urine after voiding. So, I am cathed with the mmg o'niel every morning and night to completly drain the bladder of any residue. This has worked for 8 years. I take 500mg of vit. C 4 times a day and drink cranberry juice to avoid infections.
When i was newly injured the doctors tried to talk me into a suprapubic. I am glad I did not. Of course, everyones injury is different. The condom & intermittent cathering (2x) gives me the freedom to drink whatever, whenever, and any amounts. They had me on a fluid restriction and even when that it my bladder was swelling way too much. They initially did the suprapubic with the idea that I was going to try to get my bladder trained so it would void out through a Texas catheter, but I kept getting UTIs. They discovered that my bladder was retaining about 100 to 200 cc of your and even after I had voided. So, we decided to keep the suprapubic. Let me know if this wasn't what you're looking for.
