When I first moved to Tampa in 1996 qualified caregivers were going for
about $13 an hour.  At least that's what the agency was charging me.  I
agree 100%.  It is terribly difficult to find really competent people and
when you do you need to treat them like gold.

Right now I am lucky enough to have my sister-in-law and brother performing
my care.  I don't know, given how much work it is to get me up and going,
whether I could ever find somebody as reliable as they are.  Possibly a
live-in caregiver, but I don't know.
