Yes, I broke my tibia in a spiral fracture as I had become dizzy from being
hospitalized and catching the corner of the doorway. I was in a splint for
several months. Monitor your blood pressure and have something to take in case
of autonomic hyperreflexia. I take hydralazine if my pressure top number goes
above 160. It's very effective and you have to watch that you don't remove the
causes of the hyperreflexia and take hydralazine because your pressure might go
dangerously low. Hang in there! Dan

I did exactly the same thing last year - a tibia/fibula spiral fracture.
Three months in a splint in bed in the hospital. Luckily, I'm a Veteran so
there is no worry about cost. I am a C3/4 incomplete with sensation so there
was a lot of pain. You may have more bouts of AD. Be strong!

Well, I broke my leg again. While driving my chair my toe caught the wall.
I kept driving forward while my leg stayed against the wall and kept turning
until ‘snap’. This time it broke in two places on my left leg below my knee.
I had some AD, but it wasn’t that bad.

Anyway, Monday or Tuesday I’ll be seeing an orthopedic doc to go over my
treatment options, etc. Have any of you guys broke your tibia before? If so,
what worked or didn’t work for you?

    Mike~
