Thank you all on your advice and support!

What they decided to do is put me in a hard cast and then have a follow up
appointment in 3 weeks. I talked my Dr. into seeing me in 2 weeks instead
because of the very real possibility of skin breakdown. Also, I got them to
pad the heck out of my cast with both felt and six layers of cotton. Now
it's just a waiting game.

This is why I had full foot plates on my chair. They will put a foam and
velcro splint on your leg. It will heal very slowly. You have to try to stay
immobile. If you screw it up too bad they can only amputate it. You will
need a low air loss mattress because you can't be moving around much. Now is
your chance to get one without having a sore first. A broken leg is not a
better way to get one.
I wish you the very best of luck.

Well, I broke my leg again. While driving my chair my toe caught the wall.
I kept driving forward while my leg stayed against the wall and kept turning
until ?snap?. This time it broke in two places on my left leg below my
knee. I had some AD, but it wasn?t that bad.

Anyway, Monday or Tuesday I?ll be seeing an orthopedic doc to go over my
treatment options, etc. Have any of you guys broke your tibia before? If
so, what worked or didn?t work for you?
