Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] your help with survey research
Hi everyone,
I would like to thank all who have been supportive but reiterate that
everyone
has a right to do what they want. Yes I need help with people filling out
the
survey, but I've appreciated the discussions by all about this topic as
well. I
apologize if anyone find the survey questions irrelevant to them. It is
true
that I don't get to study exactly what I want to study but what my advisor
wants. But I know nothing about how the information is going to some
college
money. I don't get any money at all when this study is completed. Like I
said
before this study personally helps me to get my degree. I have heard that
some
people get their study published which earns them a scholarship to do
further
research but not for them to keep to spend on other things. The most that
I
could anticipate happening to this study is for it to get published
somewhere
so that other clinicians could have access to how best to work with people
with
disabilities. I have never heard of anyone in my field using research
information to determine whether or not people with disabilities deserve
to
live. If anything, I've read recently about psychologists working with
government officials to lobby support for mental health care for people
with
disabilities.
On the one hand I want to encourage more discussions but on the other hand
I do
feel guilty about occupying much of this listserv... I wish I knew more
about
other people's topics to respond to but unfortunately I only know stuff in
my
own field...
Best,
Jenny

THE
SURVEY THAT ERIC TOLD ME ABOUT THRU WASH UNIVERSITY------AND TODAY SENT
THEM
MY 2ND SURVEY AND THEY ARE SENDING ME $30 FOR THAT ONE. Not all schools
and
individuals can pay,,,so let those that want to help out do so.

Jeez, give the kid a break! I don't mind doing surveys and I'll do this
one.
We all waste time doing things on the net and off. This person is entering
a
great profession and is asking for a few minuets of our time, what's so
wrong
with that? Let's not act like a bunch of spoiled brats.
