California is probably the most liberal state in the nation and has the most
programs over any other state. So, if you think they are going to make
cutbacks there -- we are ALL going to be in deep kimsheee.

Tod answered the questions better than I could.

You sound like you have it pretty sweet there so, if I were you, I would be
afraid of jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire by moving but,
again and unfortunately, one has to live somewhere a year or more before
they know if they like it or not.

And with the new administration and the state of affairs going downhill --
no one knows what to *really* expect until it all happens. But I am sure
that you will still get your ss and ssi.

We (my husband and I) have been trying to move for the last four years but
it just is not panned out. When the housing market was doing really
good 4-5 years ago there were many, many, many, many Californians selling
their homes for say $1 million or more and then buying ones much cheaper *
here* for cash. Although, "much cheaper" for one person is not true for
another.

Why move to live on a hunk of desert dirt from CA? Go figure. If one can
afford to live in California - one is sitting pretty! But now with the way
that housing market is - houses are not selling. And it has been that way
for well over a year. I think it is the same way in California but I'm sure
you have been paying attention to that aspect of it. Or, it would be your
parent's problem.

Woweeeeee. I wish I had parents, or even myself, having the ability to own
two places in two very expensive exclusive areas. Sounds like you're doing
great!

I wish I could help more but that is all I can say. I am not on any
"programs" so we are just getting by the hard way. Therefore, I am not on
top of them and what they are doing and when they are changing things, etc..

Best of luck,
Lori
