I went through a period of more than a year of UTIs seemingly back-to-back. I was initially treated with oral antibiotics, then injectables, then via IV. I would get an infection, be treated, then a week or two later be infected yet again, sometimes with the same bug, sometimes another. I ultimately was referred to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville where after extensive testing they put me on a maintenance dosage of Bactrim (half the normal dosage of the antibiotic) for four months. That was about 11 months ago and I have not had a single UTI since then.
