response:

Mac has posted here before and I was just as challenging with each of his
posting as most talented aids can get work on newly discharged patients from
Major SCI Hospitals. Hence, I continue to wonder and challenge.

Best Wishes

Good Day Friends,

You all know me but at this time... or for this topic... I chose to use my
alias. I apologize for current anonymity. I hope this "anonymous" message
isn't as creepy as the one it's intended to address.

I would agree this person's email is quite suspicious considering it's being
sent to everyone individually Off-List rather than as an "announcement" for
available assistance On-List.

Since "Mac Mac," the <caringsciassistant>, provided a Cell#, I'm wondering
if call preceded by *67 might provide some info while masking your phone
number?

I wouldn't want to do it outside his 623 area code or local area (no sense
paying for it).

But the manner in which this is occuring makes me think maybe this
<caringsciassistant> Mac is actually a business trying to start up. And
considering
the willingness to relocate... maybe a referral service? Again, I'm just
guessing.

I'm also guessing the email addresses are being harvested from the web
archives since one need not be a member to read those but would have to be a
member to post it to everyone. He/she could get them from Archives unless
addresses *within* messages being replied to are "masked" in the archives... I
can't
remember.

Obviously, as Quadius said earlier, please be cautious with any personal
info you provide online. But don't let the Creepies or Heebie-Jeebies make
you
censor yourself, either... THAT would render the Quad-List useless!

Best wishes to All,

Ed (Alias)

It appears that he e-mailed everyone on the Quad-List at a minimum.

Good Day..Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mac. I came across
your email and hope that you can assist me. If I have already written to you
please forgive the repeated reply. I have a vast amount of experience in the
care of someone with a Spinal Cord Injury. I have been trying to find any
individual that may be seeking a caregiver/ Personal Assistant. I have
already ran Ads in the local News Papers but to no avail. My experience in
this
field stretches over a 10 yr period. If you know of anyone or a more
successful
means in which I can find someone who is seeking a Caregiver please let me
know. If you know of anyone personally please feel free to pass on my contact
information. Cell 623-256-4704 I am also Free and able to both travel and
relocate if the job requires it. Thank you Sincerely Mac

Hi,

I'm Paul a c5/6 complete quad. After 2 1/2 years of marriage,

I am sadly getting a divorce. The 'quad life' was more than she

could handle, and I understand. It's very very sad.

Of those who are c5/6.......do you have a 24 hr live in? If not

can you share how you mange your caregivers and who helps

at night.

Thanks so much,

pj
