I am also on a vent and have very little neck control. I have been using sip and puff for 20 years on 4 different wheelchairs. At one point in rehab they wanted me to try a chin control. It just hurt my neck and jaw muscles trying to control it. With sip and puff no head movement is needed. It does take some adjustment on the part of the OT or wheelchair rep to program the settings into the system at the beginning, but once it is functioning the way that works best for you then no further adjustments are required.
Isn't it suppose to be about what option will work best for you to gain as much control as you can, not about how complicated or hard the setup might be for the therapist? Geez, lazy people not wanting to put any effort into their work.

I have a question. I am on a vent. I was wondering if a sip and puff system might not be better. When I brought up the sip and puff option, it was said that getting the system adjusted in was complicated and keeping it adjusted in was hard. If anyone can shed some light on this subject, I would appreciate it.
