You mention mouthsticks... do you not use a headmouse or similar to

Greetings,
On the subject of the head mouse (mice) I have some thoughts to offer.
2 years ago NaturalPoint ( http://www.naturalpoint.com )
was offering the SmartNav 3 at a price ($250) that was much
below their competitors (e.g. Madenta's head mouse).
It worked very well.
For what I can only assume was a 'business decision' they
decided to improve the device and increase the price of the EG model
to $399. They now also sell an AT model for $499 which includes
a dwell-clicker and an on-screen keyboard.
There is a free dwell-clicker available from Sensory Software
( http://www.sensorysoftware.com/dwellclicker.html )
that works just fine with the EG model. And the free on-screen
keyboard they include is also available separately at
( http://www.lakefolks.org/cnt ).
I have long been an advocate for people who are quadriplegic and
have recently become a reseller for the SmartNav device. If you
qualify
(anyone reading this would do so) I offer the EG model
at my cost as a reseller - $250. You can try it to see if
it would work for you and return it for a full refund if it doesn't
meet your needs.
With the SmartNav, the dwell-clicker and the on-screen
keyboard you will have complete control of the computer.
This does not mean it will be easy. One has to be fairly
computer-savvy (and patient) to be able to manage all of this
and whatever application you are trying to use.
I am also the developer of an application called Sue Center
(named after its first user).
http://www.suecenter.org
It is freely downloadable on the above site. It is a communication
environment designed specifically for people who cannot use a
keyboard or mouse. It does many things for you.
It works very well with the SmartNav.
No matter what other tools you use for computer access
(e.g. speech recognition, face recognition for mouse movement, etc)
Sue Center is worth a look - since it is free.
I would appreciate any and all feedback so I can improve it.
Thank you for your attention.
