Uhhhhhhhmmm, why do you wanna quit dude? Oohhyeah, kid. The truth is you are
only addicted emotionally so you won't  like, get the shakes. You could always
cook it in your  meals. Your doctor might have an idea. There are tons of drugs
that need something to cure. Good luck with any muscle return.

Subject: [QUAD-L] Kicking the habit

Hi quads,

I am C-6 inc and was injured at age 17 in 1989, making me 38 now.  About a year
after my injury i started getting some return in my right leg, and couple other
areas.  What I quickly realized was that the muscle relaxer medication (tried
several over the years) stopped my spasms but at the same time took away all of
the return I had gained.  At the time it wasn't much, just a small toe movement
but to have it and then lose it with the medication was frustrating.  Since
then, I have gotten much more return and haven't taken spasm medication since
around 1990.  Unfortunately, the drug that I found that worked the best for me
was marijuana.  Obviously the stress relief and relaxed feeling it provides is
nice, but it also kills my spasms without affecting my mobility.  All of my
movement is still functional which is extremely important to my independence
(transferring into my truck, driving, showering, etc) and it gives me an
appetite.  I am 6'1 and only 120lbs so its important that I eat as much as
possible.

I have spoken to some doctors about it and while they understand what my logic
is, they always want to just try more and different spasm medication.  For just
health reasons alone, I know I need to stop but struggling with some
alternatives.  I have a 7-year old now and really need to change some of these
habits just don't know how quite yet.  I live in Georgia, where you can't buy
alcohol on Sunday so I doubt making medical marijuana legal here is not
happening.

Any ideas or has anyone gone through anything similar?
