hi Dave,
did you have a sleep study done? I've heard that sometimes sleep
apnea can cause nighttime panic attacks. For a while I was having not
panic attacks, but rather, severe anxiety in the early morning hours.
These were accompanied by angry dreams and night sweats. Since I
sleep with the aid of a ventilator I tried lowering the settings and
that solved the problem. Apparently I was being hyperventilated. I
still don't sleep like a baby but I do get in about seven hours of
pretty good sleep.
I do take 5 mg of Valium, one 500 mg of Tylenol and two beers -- PBR!
I hope you solve your problems soon because I know how terrible it is
when you want to get into bed but at the same time you're dreading it.

elicited my response:
Do any of you have any problems sleeping at night? if I don't drug
myself, I lie awake for hours on end and often have 'panic attacks'
in the middle. They are terrible forcing me to sit up and turn the
fan on. When it's below 70, that's too cool for me - but if it is
much warmer, the pa's are worse and more frequent. I use a plethora
of otc drugs and root extracts in alternating sequence. My body
seems to quickly figure each one out and render it useless so I have
to switch around.
What do you guys do, just lie down and sleep like a baby???
