Hiya Monty, in Indiana. Which hospital and doctors finally repaired you.
This could be important to those who live in the general Midwest Area.
What level is your injury?
Best Wishes

Hello, my name is Monty nearly 19 years post injury. Just over 10 years
ago I had a similar wound on the lower part on lower part of my butt cheek
just before my leg. After a year and a half of fighting with it and
discovering I also had a bone infection! Six weeks of IV antibiotics still did
not
clear things up, after consulting with a very good doctor I had a muscle
flap surgery to finally close it up! I was going to school when this all
started but fortunately I was able to fight through it to graduate. It took
six
weeks after the surgery of being completely off of it but after building
myself back up I've had no problem ever since then! That tunneling that was
happening was very annoying and no matter what I tried nothing was working! I
would consider a second opinion from another wound clinic if you have one
in your area or you can ask for a blood test to see if your blood count is
off indicating a infection. That was my first battle, the second one was a
bone infection just below my left elbow. The first round of IV antibiotics
did not work and had to leave town for a better diagnostic of what the
problem was. Then learn more around of IV antibiotics and another muscle flap
solve my problem just over three years ago. Just don't take no for an answer
because I'm the one that got on the Internet to locate those physician
outside of town! I'm on Medicaid and Medicare and I paid nothing out of pocket
especially for all of the transportation two hours one way to get their.
Any other questions feel free to ask from Indiana 3/4c complete

I’ve had a nagging sore just left of my tailbone, It’s .5 x .4 cn wide,
about .5 cn deep, then it tunnels about 1.6 cn to 1 o’clock. It got as bad as
a 2.7 cn tunnel at one time. It’s been over 6 months now. I’ve been going
to a Wound Clinic. I go for debridement to get the dead tissue removed. I
know it’s better, but It would go away faster if I just left it alone. But
that would leave a pucker / dimple on the wound. Then it could break open
much easier in the future.

I just got my chair fixed and hope it will help with the sore now. The
lower back was not padded very well and unless I reclined a lot, it left lots
of pressure right on my sore. At the repair shop we realized there was a 1
inch pad under my cushion. It was there to raise me up a bit because I’m
tall, and my legrests would often scrape on thing when going up / down ramps.
After taking the pad out, I sit an inch lower, so the chair back no longer
pushes on that area. I just have to be more careful now going up/down
ramps.

So I’m hoping my sore will heal up faster now.

I finally got my wheelchair. Wheel chairs are more comfortable than
regular chairs for me because they do not let my feet dangle. I'm on the
shorter
side so I have that problem. This chair is better suited to me because it
doesn't put pressure on my tailbone which causes me a lot of problems. The
bottom that I sit on doesn't go all the way to the bad of the chair, it is
about an inch shorter and it makes such a difference. I'm not sure if they
ordered it that way because of how the doctor wrote the prescription or what,
but I am thankful for that. It is a Invacare Tracer and has a nylon type
fabric seat covers instead of the leather/leather like and so my back
doesn't sweat. The legs of my old chair used to have a weird bolt like
appendage
that would hit my legs a couple of inches below my knee which caused a
callous and this one doesn't have that so hopefully the callous will go away.
