I'm not a Mormon, but I too found that offensive.
Politics is one thing, but can we leave race, gender, ethnicity and religion 
out of it?
Oh, and disability?
Had people known FDR was in a wheelchair much of the time I could imagine them 
making a similar statement about him [substitute "cripple" as the bigot point.]
