If I get mildly constipated I'll use one or two senna tablets. If I have severe
constipation, I've had success with is Mag Citrate:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnesium_citrate .  It is an OTC liquid, but you
need to drink much less mag citrate than GoLightly.  The taste is quite
citrusy, but much more tolerable than GoLightly if you like sour foods like
lemon.  The results are usually 'explosive'.  I always feel great after! :)

For my BP, I use a bisocodyl suppository every night.  I sleep on my stomach,
slide a chux between my legs and up over my butt and the next morning there's a
little 'package' to remove.  It's worked for 44 years.  I also eat lots of
fruit, vegetables and good grains long with lots of water every day.

Hope you feel better soon.

Nan

Go Lite (Lightly) is brutal.  Some add lemon juice or use Gater Aid as
a chaser.  The mission is always to clear n clean the entire bowel, for
testing.  As I've mentioned before.  A daily BM is better on one's
body than 2-3 times a week.  Those having a Colonoscopy are required and
empty and clean bowel.
Best Wishes
