There are three types of batteries you can use

1) Sealed gel which is most expensive
2) Sealed lead acid which work good but you cant fly with them, battery stores
sell these like batteries plus pretty reasonable
3) Deep cycle marine battery will work on the cheap at walmart, but if you turn
over you risk spilling acid and no flying

Advanced auto also sells a sealed gel blue top marine for much cheaper than a
chair store.

I would recommend sealed lead acid if he doesnt fly. These work well and are
half the price and safe.

Ive used all these batteries personally and any will work. It depends on if
your paying out of pocket or insurance is buying. If money is no object you go
for the gel.

The standard deep cycle boat batteries have risk involved, I was a car guy so I
understood the risk. I wouldnt buy these unless I was broke

Subject: [QUAD-L] Battery

Need a bit of knowledge. My friend up the street needs new batteries for his
chair. He called a battery store and they quoted him $425 for 2 wheelchair
batteries. Auto Zone quoted $160 for 2 deep cycle marine batteries. What is the
difference here and what should I tell him? I have always used the cheap ones.
