Ron,
     Start making friends of every age and anywhere. Church's, clubs of 
different kinds, start a club of your own (i've done this to make more friends) 
join all kinds of organization's. When you meet people, invite them over for 
lunch or dinner and ask for a little assistance - then they will see what your 
needs are and what your capable of.
