mine is coated and part of coating is gone……..on the upside I found a guy who 
fixed it but I still need to get the new cable……..at least it’s working for now

I can tell you this.  The cable is 3/32 stainless steel Air Craft Quality.  
Some companies may use a vinyl coated cable, but the best is bare cable.  You 
have to know the configuration of how the cable winds around the motor, as well 
as the tension device on the system. There are some accessories that may 
include:  couplers, yokes, stops and cable cutting device and crimp.    After 
that.... the rest is easy.
