The actual spec calls for 3/32 aircraft quality, stainless braided steel. Some use vinyl coated while others do not, depending on the year. This product is not sold at big box stores or hardware stores. It must be cut to the exact length and you may need a "yoke" and "cable stops" at the motorized take up and release spool. The cable must go thru the tensioner, which is spring loaded. This provides contact tension on the cable and spool so that it doesn't jump. I guess that is why most dealers will not sell them "the kit" to consumers. Also you will need a special crimp tool for the yoke and end stops. Best Wishes In a message dated 6/23/2015 7:54:05 P.M. Does anyone know where I can get the door cable for a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan IMS RampVan? My daughter can put it on but the dealer won’t sell me the part. Nicki C5/6
