Hi all, I am going for a new chair and seating system to sit better. I have
been looking at the utube video on the Java ride design cushion and back and it
looks great. They seem to know what they are doing. I am in RI however. has
anyone used this product and are the other jayback or varalight products as
good? I Don't need the custom cushion. any thoughts? my posture is bad and
uncomfortable and these rohos don't support.
Kind regards,
Shirley Bell

my wheelchair rep came out today and changed the back on my chair. i'm so
happy, feels great. it's not a jay3 but a veralite icon air back. it also has
little lateral support. the other had way too much. she was familiar with the
jay3 website you showed me but my computer was malfunctioning and I couldn't
get aol up running to get to your links for you tube but i'm going to send them
to her later. thank you sooo much for feedback. she's also coming back out to
change my legs/foot rests as they are still too long after changing the back.

my wheelchair rep has been back and says she'll be back with a different
back. and back until i'm comfortable with my chair. but it's just so far off
her "measurements", i don't think this is right. i guess i'll be finding out.
it's only my 2nd chair through medicaid in 25 yrs. but now, 25 yrs later,
scoliosis has developed from not sitting correctly and i'm finding these chairs
very uncomfortable. just venting because i think i'm going to be stuck with
something i don't like. to get the back close to right, the legs are too long,
etc. it is however my first recline, i had hoped a smoother transfer of chairs.

I beg to differ. Knowledge is Power and you have every right to say NO
and not sign the required paperwork until you get exactly what you need.
Remember that providers are guided by you requirements and needs. They must
comply with insurance perimeters and CMS codes. Learn as much about the
manufacturer via the internet. You can try out anything you want. Manufacture
Reps are more than willing. Take Charge of YOUR Life. Otherwise others will.

All companies the same. They do not give a crap about fitting the best
chair. They should not get away with this.
Until you find a company that really cares and takes the time to
evaluate you, You have to really spend the time to research your self.
Then ask for a demo to try for a few weeks. Read reviews, ask other
users and give it time to adjust for the change. A new different chair
      takes time to adjust to.

I do not think wheelchair manufactures and DME dealers consider people
sitting in wheelchairs for 12 hours a day. They should spend the time in
customers shoes and ride around town and into stores to see what its like.

DME are sparse in rural areas like I live in so there is not many
choices. My friend down the road was just told to find another dealer
after getting his new wheelchair just because he told them and argued
that he never got a chest strap. A chest strap is not much $ but they
      could care less.

Its just another hosing that the disabled get. Here's your wheelchair,
cushion or van, now go away until you can order a new one. Plus, I blame
Med-i-dont-care for not paying for pressure mapping and for better
      equipment.
