When do you do your bowel program? I mean time of day. How often? What
things do you use to help move your bowels like senecot, miralax,
metamucil? Any simple things like all bran cereals or activia yogurt.
I ask because I recently had to have abdominal surgery because of an
ileus and have to radically rethink how I manage my bowels. I had heard
that quads can develop a mega-colon because of reduced motility in the
bowels. A normal person's colon is 6 feet long. Mine is 12. Here's
the thing - nobody seems to know if that's abnormal. I guess the number
of 30 year quads that have had abdominal surgery is small. Anyway I
used to do my bowel program Monday,Wednesday Friday. I was taking
metamucil twice a day and on bowel program days I took a magic cleanse
and 2 senecot. I ate bran cereals and activia yogurt every day too.
What do you do?
