Hi all
I've sussed the problem with the SupraExpress 288 modem, and as usual with
these things it was down to one of the first things I thought of but forgot
to check.
I bought it secondhand, without a phone cable, so stuck in my old
USRobotics cable. No connection. When I tried it with a cable borrowed from
an iMac it connected first time in both Open Transport and ConfigPPP. A
lesson learned - the quality of cable obviously makes a difference. That
may be obvious to many of you, but I hope my struggle saves someone else
the same trouble.
Thanks to all who offered advice.
Russell
