Thanks Mark. I use 7.6.1 in my two active Quads and so far it is my favorite OS although my experience is much more limited than yours. As for that OTopic LCIII on 7.5.3 . . it's out the door and in the hands of a total computer newbie so it's a don't-look-back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but even in his hands it seems to be stable; in fact last time I saw him he raved about how it never crashes on him and that his old girlfriend's iMac crashed more. I while back I thought you were saying to not go beyond 7.1 with the 030's but I see know that you are suggesting either staying with 7.1 or taking a giant step to 7.6.1 to bypass the troublesome OS's inbetween. I can dig it! My Quad 605 was 7.6 but something (GX Graphics? - Freeway? - wish I could remember!) told me I needed 7.6.1- which updater I happilly had on CD.
