I sent a Performa problem to the PCI list and got only one response, which
was appreciated but I'm still stymied. So I'll try here.

Rather than go through the whole bloody story I'll simplify...

When the CPU power is turned on I get a chime but no desktop.

When the apple monitor's power is turned on it displays a heavily corrupted
image of it's own default screen whether or not the CPU is turned on as
well.

I have the OG sys install discs, tried rebooting from the installer disk.
Same result.

Are there key commands necessary to boot from the utilities disk?

Tried the CPU with another monitor from a 475. No screen AT ALL. Why
wouldn't a Performa 476 be able to use a monitor from a 475?

Thank you for your time!
