An adapter will work. Some of the newer drives don't have onboard termination so this gets confusing--you'd need an adapter with terminator in that case.
Other option would be to buy used or refurb 50-pin drive. There's a 4gig one on Other World Computing for $34. There are zillions on ebay. (Some people don't recommend buying used drives but my experience has been fine.) --Anna Hello, philphil!
