I have found that it is much more reliable to change the file extension from .hqx to .txt before down loading through Netscape on my work PC. I don't know why. Maybe there are some settings in Netscape that are not right. Once downloaded you can change it back to .hqx before transferring it to the Mac. If the file is small enough to go on a floppy then you can use TransMac to write the file (on the PC) onto a 1.4Mb Mac compatible floppy. I also use a free server on my PC called TYPSoft FTP Server which I got from http://typsoft.n3.net. A crossover cable hooks PC ethernet to Mac ethernet. Use Fetch FTP s/w on the Mac to download from PC to Mac. My experience is that its very frustrating at the beginning of the PC to Classic Mac conversion (or should I say "Switch" :-). The s/w you need is on the web but you can't get it without the s/w on the web! As you get more Mac s/w it becomes easier and easier. Re-reading the above I realize that I have just done the same thing that used to frustrate me when I started taking advice from these Mac lists: I made it sound easy and assumed that you would understand what the hell I was talking about!
